The best burr grinders have multiple speeds; the lower speed is best so that no added heat is generated. If you don't have a grinder, use a blender. Or, grind the beans by hand with a rolling pin, hammer, or garlic press. For the best results, stay away from blade grinders which can grind the coffee beans quite inconsistently.
