As I was grinding on the weekend, I am on the last 2 abrasives; aluminum oxide 9 and 5 micron. It is said that when grinding has been successfully completed, the mirror will feel like the finest satin to the touch, and newsprint can be read through it. It's already unbelievably smooth, and not quite able to read through, but nevermind.

If you don't have the room to hang a mirror in your bathroom or your bedroom, then maybe you should think about purchasing a door mirror. A door mirror will be able to provide you with the mirror that you need, while not getting in your way.
ادامه مطلبRough grinding. This step is about making one side of the glass concave. It will give your mirror its overall focal ratio. If you make the centre deep, you will end up with a fast telpe (e.g. F/D = 4) well suited for deep sky observations. On the opposite, a shallow mirror (e.g. F/D = 8) will be performing very well on planets and the moon.
