In 1849, Gabriel Baer moved from Pennsylvania to Ohio's Darke County to purchase a mill site on Greenville Creek. A new mill building was in the initial stages of construction, when Baer, his son and son-in-law took over. The mill building, utilizing post and beam construction, was supported with enormous hand-hewn beams.

On the top floor you can dress in old fashion clothes; sit in the covered wagon with a shot gun in your hands and shoot at the danger. Real fitting to the times.
