The hand crank versions are not nice to use. I have found that the kitchen aid mixer meat grinder will make the kitchen aid mixer far too hot to touch if you try and do a whole deer at once. This does not please the owner of the kitchen aid mixer, and will probably shorten both the lives of the mixer and the owners husband.

Keep your grinder plates and blade sharp and you'll be amazed at how easy it grinds.
