I do a lot of milling wood on my Bridgeport. Although slower, the mill does a better job than the shaper or router, because it does not turn at such high RPM that it burns the wood. You can do maple, which is difficult to do on a shaper/router without burning. One thing to remember is to mount the wood on a sturdy fixture and climb-cut.
